We are proud to present John Yoo as our speaker in May. John Yoo is a professor of law at the University of California at Berkeley and a Visiting Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. His new book, Taming Globalization (Oxford University Press 2012) addresses the ways that American sovereignty channels and resists efforts at global governance.
Professor Yoo was a deputy assistant attorney general in the Office of Legal Counsel of the U. S. Department of Justice where he worked on national security and terrorism after the September 11 attacks. He also served as general counsel of the Senate Judiciary Committee and as a law clerk for Judge Laurence Silberman of the D.C. Circuit and Justice Clarence Thomas of the U.S. Supreme Court.
